HOUSTON– COVID-19, or the coronavirus, has left many people out of a job or deemed essential. One essential industry declared by the state of Texas is the fast-food industry. In order to keep business afloat, restaurants have made it much more convenient for customers who want to maintain social distancing to buy food remotely.
Rease Rushing, and employee for Popeye’s, explains that his employer has taken precautions, such as closing the restaurant lobby for dine-in, and only allowing drive-thru and carry out. To keep the restaurant as clean as possible, workers wear gloves and will be wearing masks throughout the day.
Rushing says that business has remained steady throughout his time there. When it comes to the service industry, workers are making the necessary precautions to handle your food safely.
