The Texas State Women’s basketball team kicked off their 2019-2020 campaign on Tuesday evening at Strahan Arena with a rout of Texas Lutheren University 72-31.
While the Bobcats struggled shooting the ball (40.8%), they made up for it with stifling defense, forcing 32 turnovers while allowing the Bulldogs to shoot a mere 22.2 percent from the floor. The Lady ‘Cats also crashed the glass all night long, out-rebounding TLU 51-31.
Sophomore Center Jaeda Reed led the way for the Bobcats with 18 points to go along with nine rebounds.
Up next the Bobcats travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday to take on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in their road opener.
