Student Employees Attempt to Make Ends Meet in San Marcos

Ryan Webb is responsible for shelving music scores at the Schneider Music Library.
Webb primarily works at the circulation desk to answer students’ questions and faciliatate checkouts.
As a building monitor, Webb routinely checks if rooms in the Music Building are occupied or closed for students.
Webb checks out a drumset practice room for music student Bella Quaid. He said he enjoys interacting with music students at his two jobs.
Amanda Xavier delegates resonsibilities to other tour guides and is responsible for opening duties.
At any given time, there are multiple student tour guides overseeing the Alumni and Future Student Welcome Center.
After opening, Xavier attaches a name badge and commemorative pin to her uniform. Her pin signifies her completing over 100 tours at Texas State over the span of two years.

    For Tatyana Evans, choosing to work at Alkek Library was an easy decision because of her prior experience working in libraries. Although she has several responsibilities at her job, she said she enjoys the calm atmosphere.

    Erin Fagerquist applied for several barista positions before deciding to work on-campus at Starbucks. She said she most enjoys being around other Texas State students at her job.
