There are few places as comparable to heaven in the midst of a crowded as Zilker Park at Barton Creek. Nestled right within the city’s downtown, this is Austin’s largest off-the-leash dog park. This park draws dog-parents, photographers, travelers, and work out gurus alike because of its wide open space and activity ground. Every weekend (weather permitting) bocce ball, volleyball, and fun filled games of fetch are played across the lawn which also is the location of large events like Austin City Limits Music Festival, Blues on the Green and the Trail of Lights. This park is a favorite of the active community of Austin as it is also right on the lake and has locations for swimming, kayaking and canoeing.
