George’s, located on the first floor of the LBJ Student Center, is a popular hangout spot on campus. George’s recently re-opened on April 1st, 2019, to much fanfare. This bar, media and billiards room at times is the center of attention in terms of campus events. The Texas State Comedy Association helped to break in the new George’s by hosting an event. These are the stories behind what makes George’s so special at Texas State.

George’s is located on the first floor of the LBJ Student Center. Hours of Operations are Monday-Thursday 10am-Midnight, Fridays: 10am-11pm and Saturday-Sunday: 12-10pm.
George’s is a place where students can play a game of Table Tennis or Billiards in between classes. Any student can play for free with their Texas State ID.

Pictured above is a wall with personalized items from George Strait. Hence the name, George’s, is named after Southwest Texas State Alumni and King of Country music, George Strait.
Not only can you grab a snack and watch a movie at George’s, but there’s also areas where you can also lounge around and work on some homework.

George’s reopening took place on April 1st, 2019 and it wasn’t an April fools joke. With a new and industrial redesign, George’s is a place you wouldn’t want to miss.

George’s is named after Texas State alumni and “King of Country” recording artist, George Strait. Pictured above is personalized memorabilia from the singer-songwriter.
George’s features a full-size bar and kitchen (as pictured above), as well as several TV’s (one of which being a large media screen), plenty of lounge seating, and several billiard and ping-pong tables.
George’s prides itself on being accessible for all: hence the reasoning behind this wheelchair ramp, as photographed above.
Students enjoy going to George’s in between classes to spend leisure time with friends, as well as to lounge and study.
Students have free access to all of George’s amenities (an exception being food). Showing George’s employees your Student ID will allow you free access to the billiard and ping-pong tables.
This Texas State students finds George’s to be the perfect place to study and get homework done.
“I love coming to George’s in between my classes. It has a really chill atmosphere,” said sophomore Michael Eliakin.
