The BIG One Medal event is one of the many occasions to celebrate the colorful and fun culture of Fiesta. Sounds of making deals and the clanking of the medals fill the air. After spending months on their design, each medal has been carefully constructed for the purpose of celebration, telling a unique story within its dimensions.

The BIG One Medal Event was held on April 7th, 12-5 p.m. at the Well.
This SAPD officer decorated his uniform for the fiesta season.
This vendor designed a medal based off of his two favorite things, Star Wars and his bulldog. Made just in time for the upcoming movie, “Solo” a feature film about one pf the infamous Star Wars characters.
Many vendors offered a closer look to their medals.
The room was full of tables of choices, as well as beginning collectors and frequent buyers.
This novelty medal showcased the newest “It” film as well as the topic of legalizing marijuana.
Some medals are created for a cause. For example, these women are using their profits to directly support the SAPD.
Everyone dressed up for the occasion.
Medals of all kinds debuted this year, including this one labeled, “Cheeto Man” featuring our newest President.
Although it seems overdone, this amount of medals were typical to wear for many at the event.
This novelty medal celebrated San Antonio’s 300th Fiesta with a fun play on words.
Medals of all kinds are created each year, for this vendor organizing them into separate containers is the easiest way to showcase each and everyone one.
Some medals are even homemade which make them all the more unique.
This little girl was the youngest vendor at the event, offering to trade her old medals for new medals.
