It is sad to see so many of San Marcos small businesses closing their doors due to the decline in customers and the economy. The streets have never been so empty. There is a lot of construction taking place in downtown which could also be contributing to the decline in foot traffic in the area as well. Another business closure around the square. Walking down the sidewalk, this is the unfortunate reality that small businesses are having to endure. With over 38,000 students, the campus is a ghost town with not a student in sight. With two apparent signs missing and an empty parking lot, this is an example of how COVID19 has been chipping away little by little on businesses in San Marcos. Only time will tell if things will get better.
